Microsoft Server Engineer, Senior-IPv6 Testing and Integration

Description:

The Microsoft Server Engineer position will provide support for systems administration and IPv6-related activities. This candidate will be responsible for all IPv6 integration activities for the Windows Server team including providing support for IPv6 Testing, dual-stack implementation, server cloning, and supporting server commissioning and decommissioning for Headquarters and Site Refreshes. The candidate will be working with a team of server engineers to troubleshoot issues for multiple systems in multiple datacenter locations in the Washington DC area.

Due to federal security clearance requirements, applicant must be a United States Citizen or Permanent Resident with ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.

Rate: $40 - $50 / hr. w2

Responsibilities:

1. Provide support for systems administration and IPv6-related activities
2. Lead IPv6 integration activities for the Windows Server team
3. Perform server cloning and dual-stack testing for IPv4 and IPv6
4. Manage and troubleshoot physical, virtual, and cloud servers (AWS and Azure)
5. Resolve ServiceNow incident tickets and manage change requests
6. Conduct root cause analysis and provide escalation support
7. Represent the team in Technical Interchange Meetings
8. Maintain and update documentation and standard operating procedures

Experience Requirements:

1. Expert knowledge of Windows OS (W2K12R2, W2K16, W2k19, W2k22)
2. Hyper-V and VMware expertise
3. Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT)
4. Dell Open Manage Enterprise and iDRAC
5. PowerShell and command-line scripting
6. Dual-stack and IPv6-only testing and implementation
7. Microsoft BitLocker and data-at-rest encryption
8. AD Group policy and GPO security posture
9. Experience with large-scale server environments (2000+ servers)

Education Requirements:

Required Certifications/Education:

1. Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) - Server Infrastructure or equivalent
2. AWS/Azure Cloud Certifications (preferred)
3. VMware Certifications (preferred)
