The Broadcast Maintenance Engineer repairs, maintains, and provides technical and operational support to mechanical and electronic equipment within the broadcast facility. The Broadcast Engineer also provides technical support to news and production operations.Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Performs troubleshooting of hardware and software problems on all Broadcast equipment. Repairs component or board level as appropriateProvides prompt service in support of daily News Department operations and other station departmentsPerforms preventive maintenance as appropriate on station equipmentCross-trains other members of the technical staff, and improves/updates technical job skillsQualifications/Requirements:Associate degree in Electronics or Computer Science, or equivalent training and/or experienceFive years experience maintaining technical equipment in a television broadcast or post-production facility is preferredMust possess mid-level experience and knowledge of computers, servers, data infrastructure including Ethernet and fiber in support of IP and communications protocols, and computer operating systems (WP, Windows 10, Server 2008, etc)Knowledge of Edius editing servers and control room automation is a plusMust have the ability to install and configure broadcast technical equipment and computer hardware and software, and troubleshoot computer-related problems in support of broadcast-specific technologyGood written and verbal skills.
