Position Title: DBA Associate Program Director

Department Name: GGU Worldwide

Position Reports To: Associate Dean of GGU Worldwide

FLSA STATUS: Exempt, Salaried

Salary Range: $80,000.00 - $85,000.00

Location: SF - Hybrid

Days & Hours: Monday through Friday, 37.5 hours per week. Standard work schedule is 9:00 am to 5:30 PM, may be adjusted. Flexible schedule may require evening and weekend hours during peak periods.

BASIC FUNCTION AND SCOPE OF JOB: The DBA Associate Program Director, with guidance and support from the Dean and Associate Dean (concurrent DBA Program Director), performs strategic and tactical program leadership to GGU Worldwide's DBA Program. The DBA Associate Program Director oversees the overall performance evaluation and assessment, student satisfaction, and faculty hiring and retention. The DBA Associate Director collaborates and coordinates with GGU Worldwide Faculty Directors, Ageno School of Business Program Directors, Student Services, Admissions, Careers and educational partners. The DBA Associate Program Director is responsible for ensuring the quality and effectiveness of all DBA courses including the comprehensive evaluation of course content, delivery methods, and student engagement to maintain high academic standards.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Administrative
    • Provides weekly briefings to the GGU Worldwide Curriculum Quality Committee (CQC) and University Committee on Academic Standards (CAS) on important administrative and curricular issues as they develop.
    • Lead in DBA curriculum revisions and make presentations and secure consensus and approval from CQC, CAS, and Office of the Provost.
    • Meets with GGU and partners Student Advisor(s), and Career Coach(es), on how to review the academic and career progress of students and to discuss possible academic outstanding issues.
    • Assists the Associate Dean of GGU Worldwide in managing faculty needs, including assisting in the recruitment of Full- and Part-Time Faculty and assisting in the reappointment and review of contracts and adjunct faculty.
    • Along with DBA Director, act as the primary quality control officers of the DBA Program including the dissertation process.
    • Works with partners to help form DBA Dissertation Committees, select qualified members, and supervise their administration of student dissertations from topic proposal to final approved dissertation.
  2. Program Evaluation and Assessment
    • Assessment Reports: Lead in DBA program evaluation and assessment, including the development of Learning Assessment Reports (LARs), Quality Improvement Reports (QIRs), and other WASC accreditation reports and documentation.
    • Syllabus Review: Analyze course syllabi to ensure alignment with current industry standards and academic best practices; Verify the inclusion of up-to-date research, methodologies, and technologies in course materials; Recommend course and program curriculum improvements to course structure, content, and learning objectives.
    • Faculty Observation: Attend faculty teaching sessions to assess instructional quality and effectiveness; Evaluate the use of innovative and effective pedagogical techniques; Provide constructive feedback to faculty members for continuous improvement.
    • Learning Management System (LMS) Audit: Regularly review the LMS to monitor student-faculty interactions; Assess the timeliness and quality of faculty responses to student inquiries; Evaluate the effectiveness of online learning materials and activities.
    • Quality Assurance: Develop and implement evaluation criteria for doctoral-level courses; Conduct periodic reviews of program effectiveness and student outcomes; Prepare detailed reports on findings and recommendations for program enhancement.
    • Continuous Improvement: Stay informed about emerging trends in higher education and doctoral-level instruction; Collaborate with faculty and administration to implement best practices; Participate in professional development activities to enhance evaluation skills.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education requirement: Graduate degree in business administration, business analytics, education, public administration, nonprofit management, leadership or a related field
  • Years of experience: 10-15 years of progressively responsible experiences in higher education, academic administration, or international education
  • Knowledge of: curriculum support and student success software and systems, such as Smartsheets, Curriculog, Recruit, Colleague, Salesforce.
  • Skills and abilities:
    • Strong understanding of academic quality assurance processes
    • Proficiency with learning management systems and educational technologies
    • Excellent analytical and communication skills
    • Problem-solver
    • Attention to detail
    • Strong interpersonal and diplomacy skills
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Proficient in data analysis and report writing
    • Linguistic abilities beyond English a plus.
