Job Description

Required:

The purpose of this position is to provide personnel management of technical resources aligned on a common set of products, projects, initiatives.

  1. BIntel Development (Highly Proficient) in SSRS, VBA, ASP, C#
  2. Database knowledge including Oracle, SQL Server and Netezza
  3. Testing and QA procedures to include QA automation applications

This position will manage and oversee efficiencies, allocating resources, facilitating issue resolution; ensuring team goals and objectives are met; providing assistance with communications; and developing direct reports. Their focus will be on the tactical day-to-day execution of team, driving the results and performance of the team and ensuring high quality deliverables. Responsible for 1 or 2 of the following 3: People, Process, Product.

Major Accountabilities:

  1. 45% - Manages technical team(s) who design, develop, test and maintain products with a specific emphasis on delivery timeliness, quality, usability, performance and scalability while ensuring best practice processes are adhered to and considering the strategic direction as set forth by the Director.
  2. Ensures team goals and objectives are met; oversees efficiencies, identify and allocates resources, collaboratively facilitates goal definition and issue resolution; provides assistance with communications; and develops direct reports while building a high performance team and fostering a safe environment.
  3. Understanding the complete impact of the work stream on other work streams and minimizing disruption.
  4. Decision maker on recruiting, hiring, supervision, career development of staff and recommends promotions.
  5. Celebrate successes while sharing lessons learned.
  6. Develops appropriate performance review objectives; provides day to day coaching and encourages the team to move ahead in times of uncertainty.
  7. Conducts quarterly performance reviews/coaching sessions with the team.
  8. 15% - Ensures deliverables are met; Makes timely decisions and takes action without the whole picture even in times of uncertainty; manages time, scope and budget; Is execution oriented and works closely with project management.
  9. 10% - Stays current with industry trends in domain best practices, healthcare, software delivery and technology; demonstrates self-mastery.
  10. 10% - Ensures process improvement opportunities are identified and implemented through agile methodology.
  11. 5% - Clearly communicates Premier's broader mission, vision, and values to the team while accurately reflecting team performance to director.
  12. 5% - Manages to and forecasts the team capacity and velocity as it relates to the product roadmap, process improvement, technical debt and career development plans.
  13. 5% - Builds relationships with cross functional staff engineers and ensures cross functional team collaboration.
  14. 5% - Partners with consulting and technology organizations to ensure effective communication and strong collaboration.

Minor Requirements:

A Bachelor's degree (BA, BS) required. Computer Science or related discipline.

10 years industry experience.

  1. Demonstrated experience in developing commercial software – greenfield and/or brownfield.
  2. Demonstrated experience with web based service architecture and application development.
  3. Demonstrated experience with unit test methodologies and tools.

Managerial/Supervisory Experience: 2 years in supervisory/lead capacity managing.

Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree (BA, BS) required. Computer Science or related discipline.
