My client is a premier union electrical subcontractor serving the Greater Philadelphia area. They are currently seeking a skilled Electrical Estimator to join their team and help continue to deliver outstanding results.
Job Description
- Review and analyze project plans, blueprints, and specifications to determine the scope of electrical work and required materials.
- Develop detailed and accurate cost estimates for electrical installations, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services.
- Assess historical data, industry trends, and market conditions to formulate effective pricing strategies and project cost estimates.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and clients to clarify project requirements, address discrepancies, and adjust estimates as needed.
- Solicit and evaluate bids from subcontractors and suppliers to ensure cost-effective procurement.
- Prepare and present comprehensive bid proposals, including detailed cost breakdowns and project timelines.
- Maintain and update cost databases and estimation software to reflect current pricing and industry trends.
- Ensure estimates are completed promptly and in accordance with company standards and procedures.
- Assist in preparing contract negotiations and project budgets as required.
The Successful Applicant
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as an electrical estimator, preferably with a union electrical subcontractor.
- In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and industry standards.
- Proficiency in estimation software and tools, such as Accubid, Bluebeam, or similar programs.
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills with a meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, subcontractors, and team members.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Union membership or willingness to join a union is required.
- Knowledge of local codes and regulations relevant to the Greater Philadelphia area is a plus.
