Overview: A leading firm in the asset management industry is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join its internal technology group. This role is crucial for developing a robust portfolio management platform focused on fixed income investment. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in building complex services, particularly using Python or Java, while leveraging AWS cloud technologies to enhance investment strategies.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain critical data services that support fixed income portfolio management applications.
  • Implement investment decision support systems that facilitate strategy development across various fixed income markets.
  • Enhance existing applications built in Java, Python, and React to improve functionality and performance for portfolio managers.


Qualifications:

  • Over 10 years of experience in software development with a focus on portfolio management systems within the asset management sector.
  • Proficiency in Python, Java, and SQL, alongside a strong understanding of fixed income instruments and portfolio management strategies.
  • Familiarity with financial datasets from providers such as Bloomberg, S&P, and ICE, and their application in trading and risk management.
  • Strong analytical skills and a proactive ownership mentality in dynamic environments.
  • Experience with SDLC tools (Git, Jira, Docker, Jenkins) for collaborative development.


Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with AWS cloud technologies for scalable and efficient application deployment.
  • Knowledge of investment strategy customization and backtesting methodologies.
  • Direct experience supporting front office users (Portfolio Managers, Quants) in a fixed income context.
  • Familiarity with building microservices using Spring Boot and web applications using React.
