The Job: Tooling Engineer
Salary range: $81,000 to $90,000 is the range, but the exact amount depends on experience.

Role Description: The Tooling Engineer is responsible for creating, documenting, developing, and implementing procedures used to tool the Company's products.
Key Responsibilities :
  • Enhance overall processes, including development, documentation, and problem-solving.
  • Manage programs, and design, install, and debug tooling and capital equipment.
  • Schedule and create process documentation.
  • Coordinate sourcing, build, and tryout of tooling, including obtaining quotes.
  • Design and develop manufacturing tooling and fixtures, providing clear instructions and sketches for tool construction personnel.
  • Develop and troubleshoot stamping processes, and specify forming and stamping equipment.
  • Provide engineering resources for other departments as required.
  • Follow quality systems procedures as required.
  • Investigate and analyze tooling, processing, assembly, and sequencing issues, initiating corrective actions and modifications as required. Initiate corrective actions to include the modification of plant tooling and machine programming.
  • Collaborate with product and process teams to design, install, and launch robust processes, including sign-off activities and production pilots.
  • Develop specifications and analyze supplier quotations for purchase of new production equipment up to and including entire manufacturing lines.
  • Daily troubleshooting of assembly and press shop problems to support production.
  • Liaise with R&D to ensure manufacturability of components prior to release.
  • Contact person for ECN (Engineering Change Notice) implementation.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field OR 8 years of equivalent experience. (Any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education approved by Human Resources).
  • CAD experience required: i.e.: AutoCAD, Pro E, Solid Works. Journeyman Tool and Die experience. (Die Design experience a plus.)
  • Knowledge of design applications- stamping and molding - is a plus.
  • Knowledge of equipment and systems appropriate to related discipline - is a plus.

Physical Demands of Position
Position involves sitting long periods, standing, manual dexterity, stooping, bending and minimal lifting.
