Job Responsibilities/Duties
Washington River Protection Solutions (WRPS) is the tank farm operating contractor at the Hanford Site located in Richland, WA. The WRPS mission is to safely store, retrieve, and treat 54 million gallons of legacy radioactive and hazardous waste. This complex mission spans all competencies of engineering/science accomplished through a highly integrated organization engineering organization. This role provides Engineering support utilizing a high degree of customer service skills in support of Operations and Maintenance for the structural evaluations of structures, systems, equipment, and development of technical studies and design solutions to meet functions and requirements, as assigned by the manager. Specific duties for the structural engineer position includes the following:
-Technical expertise and design support for a broad range of activities relating to load evaluations, equipment supports, shoring, roof evaluations, buried structures, hoist and rigging plans etc.
-Technical support to Operations such as evaluations of work enclosures (tents) wind loading and tie down requirements, structural integrities of concrete pits for safe placements of heavy equipment in developing safe crane routes, and in issues relating to hoisting and rigging tasks.
-Assistance to other engineering groups by establishing and/or approving design input information (e.g., functions and requirements), conducting formal design reviews, and providing technical input to Statements of Work (SOWs).
Required Qualifications
Grade 14:
Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Civil Engineering or related technical discipline or successful completion of technical degree by December 31, 2024
Grade 15:
Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Civil Engineering or related technical discipline; and
One (1) years of related experience
Note the essential duties for this grade level are like that of the previous grade level, however the scope of responsibility is larger, and the expected level of performance is increased.
Grade 16:
Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Civil Engineering or related technical discipline; and
Two (2) years of related experience
Note the essential duties for this grade level are like that of the previous grade level, however the scope of responsibility is significantly larger, and the expected level of performance is greatly increased.
Desired Qualifications
EIT or on track to achieve.
Knowledge of IBC, ASCE, AISC, ASTM, ACI and related structural codes and standards.
Knowledge of Hanford and specifically Tank Farms preferred.
Compensation & Benefits
In accordance with the company's philosophy on compensation for exempt and salaried non-exempt employees, WRPS takes into consideration a variety of factors when determining initial salary to include assigned job scope and responsibility, a candidate's qualifications as compared to internal comparators performing in a similar role, and the external labor market. A salary offer will be made within the targeted hiring range posted. Note a candidate's prior salary history will not be taken into consideration.
Hiring Range Minimum: $71,200
Hiring Range Maximum: $108,513
