Description
Northland Control Systems, Inc. is looking for a Embedded Application Engineer in Mountain View, CA.
The Embedded Application Engineer is to provide exceptional and high-quality support for all internal and local partners technicians. Excellent, in-depth knowledge of company products and programs as well as communicating professionally, effectively and with urgency to technicians, local service providers (LSP's), management and colleagues.

Responsibilities:
  • Utilize service management system to track and report service updates with stakeholders and support staff.
  • Coordinate service with vendors and enforce service level agreements when applicable.
  • Perform root cause analysis and basic troubleshooting to remediate system and device failures.
  • Gather operational requirements for security initiatives and extract technical requirements to determine technology scope of work.
  • Maintain records and frequently update project management system with all relevant information for all assigned projects.
  • In collaboration with the business unit, propose project ideations for future consideration.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers and Security Architects to plan and execute new builds on time and within budget.
  • Through support staff, ensure ongoing consistent quality of service from contractors.
  • Assist with scheduling, budget forecasting and expense audits as it pertains to security technology.
  • Perform routine functions on systems such as; managing users and configuring devices.
  • Other duties as may be assigned by Global Security Technology leadership.
  • To work in compliance with the company's health and safety standards and requirements, with the safety of self and others in mind at all times.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field or installation field experience.
  • Must have 3+ years of security industry experience.
  • Certified in Lenel
  • Certifications in Genetec (ACS, VMS)
  • Milestone Certification
  • Understand segmentation or partitioning in a system.
  • Experienced in configuring networks.
  • Experience and understanding of enterprise system architecture.
Skills:
  • Strong team player, self-motivated and ability to work independently and pro-actively if required.
  • Customer-focused with strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Open to taking on additional tasks globally as some regional and global travel may be required.
  • Proven expertise in managing systems emergencies in an efficient and orderly fashion.
  • Ability to efficiently manage multiple tasks, activities, and events simultaneously
  • Effectively interact with security vendors and Security Systems Engineers to ensure and maintain quality customer relationships globally.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to drive results in a multicultural and global environment.
Required Education/Experience:
  • Certifications in Genetec Video Management Systems.
  • Certified in Lenel.
  • Understand segmentation or partitioning in a system.
  • Experienced in configuring networks.
  • Experience and understanding of enterprise system architecture.
  • Valid State driver's license.

Work Environment
This position works on the job site/office and from home depending on project assignments.
Expected Hours
This is a full-time position, 40 hours a work week.
Travel
This position requires minimal travel.
Work Authorization
Must be authorized to work in the country of employment.
