About the Job:
Process Project Engineer
Join our team at a state-of-the-art facility in Danbury, CT, as a Process Project Engineer, where you will take the lead on essential engineering projects ranging from $50K to $1MM. This includes site expansions, lab upgrades, equipment retrofits, and utility upgrades. You will engage in hands-on project management and process engineering tasks, working closely with a dedicated team of researchers, engineers, and production staff. Our focus on high purity GMP chemicals for both consumer and industrial applications demands top-level expertise and commitment to quality, safety, and efficiency.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performing detailed project scope, design, and feasibility analyses to ensure successful execution within time and budget constraints.
- Specifying, selecting, and procuring equipment and materials required for project implementation.
- Conducting rigorous mass balances and process simulations to optimize production processes.
- Overseeing the installation of plant process equipment, primarily batch reactors and distillation columns.
- Leading cross-functional teams through the startup and commissioning phases, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and safety standards.
- Working collaboratively with a large research and development staff to integrate new technologies and improvements into existing systems.
- Participating in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency and safety.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
- At least 5 years of professional experience in chemicals, foods, or pharmaceuticals industries.
- Demonstrated experience in designing, managing, and implementing projects valued over $100K.
- Strong foundation in performing mass balances and familiar with both batch and continuous operation processes.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
- Experience with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) standards.
- Advanced knowledge in process optimization and scale-up of chemical processes.
- Prior experience in handling site expansions and major equipment retrofit projects.
- Proficiency in CAD and other engineering design software.
- Familiarity with environmental, health, and safety regulations applicable to the chemical industry.
