We are forming a Traffic Infrastructure team to ensure that traffic across Airtable's network and routing infrastructure is managed in a reliable, flexible, and secure manner. We are looking for experienced leaders of infrastructure software teams.Airtable runs AWS infrastructure built on k8s that spans the globe. More than 500,000 organizations, including 80% of the Fortune 100, rely on Airtable to transform how work gets done.What you'll doServe as the hands-on technical leader of a 3-person (plus plans to grow) Traffic Infrastructure software team.Develop the vision, identify high-impact early projects, build consensus across the infrastructure org for your proposed architectural evolutions, and deliver your projects.Support the other engineers on your team and ensure high quality delivery.Improve Airtable’s resilience to hardware issues (eg. network partitions, AZ loss, region loss, database failure), traffic spikes, and inefficient business logic.Evolve key foundations of Airtable’s infrastructure like RPC, service mesh, interprocess authentication, load balancing, route definitions, and failure recovery.Who you are7+ years in Software Engineering2+ years as the technical lead of a multi-person project or teamExperience with service mesh, traffic engineering, and/or cloud networking preferredExperience working on high-scale, low-latency systems with better than 99.9% uptime SLOs preferredDeep experience with AWS and/or k8s preferredAirtable is an equal opportunity employer.
