UI Developer

Job Title: UI Developer

Location: Houston, TX

Responsibilities:

1. Develop and maintain high-quality & re-usable React components using Salt Design system.
2. Build applications based on cloud-native principles and deployable to cloud platforms.
3. Collaborate with designers to implement UI designs and ensure consistency across our digital products.
4. Work closely with product managers and other developers to understand requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs.
5. Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code, following best practices and coding standards.
6. Promote great architectural practices through code reviews and provide constructive feedback to ensure code quality and adherence to standards.
7. Stay up to date with the latest trends and technologies in frontend development, and actively contribute to the improvement of our development processes and tools.
8. Add to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.

Interested? This is what you should have:

1. Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or equivalent.
2. Solid foundation in fundamental web technologies - HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
3. Hands-on experience in the React Ecosystem, developing SPAs and/or Micro-Frontends.
4. Experience working with state management solutions - zustand, react-query and/or redux toolkit.
5. Experience working with build tools and bundlers - webpack, vite, etc.
6. Fair understanding of networking and browsers - HTTP/2, CSP, CORS, Cookies, Caching, etc.
7. Experience leveraging dev tools to identify and fix performance bottlenecks - profiling, code splitting, virtualization etc.
8. Experience in a broad range of software design approaches and common UX patterns.
9. Strong believer in code quality and writing test cases using standard frameworks (cypress/playwright, jest, @testing-library/react, etc.) and ability to do performance testing.
10. Good understanding of authentication/authorization and integration with OAuth based authentication system.
