To help us drive excellence, you’ll get to:
- Assist the Program Launch team in conducting new tool tryouts and other activities as scheduled.
- Provide key input into the development of departmental strategic goals along with identifying key measurable to support the departmental goals.
- Work closely with the other departments to improve efficiency and throughput.
- Stabilize the process by determining the root cause of process issues and implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Guide design, develop, and test die methods, materials, processes, and results.
- Troubleshoot and communicate die concerns to the Tool & Die supervisors and/or manager.
- Recommend incorporation of new technology where feasible and practical. Assure that all products quoted and/or released to the plant are feasible and that the quoted rate, crew sizes, and plant performance metrics are achievable.
- Lead training activities for die engineers in die principles and practices.
- Identify, select, train, and coach engineering talent.
- Lead department weekly meetings.
- Report project status to the department director.
- Understand and help overcome roadblocks to successful completion of projects.
This full-time salary role is a part of our Die Engineering team and reports to the Director of Tooling.
Required experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience in Engineering or Engineering cross discipline. Master’s Degree preferred.
- Minimum eight (8) years’ experience in related technical and hands-on experience with Hot Stamping Tooling is required.
- Background in engineering and building dies.
- Ability to travel.
