Job Details:
We are on the lookout for a highly skilled and passionate Senior Backend Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate is passionate about improving reliability, scalability, and efficiency of mission-critical services, and who is equally comfortable developing new services or tackling long-tail problems with existing services.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain robust and scalable backend solutions using Go, Google Cloud Platform, GKE, Ruby on Rails, Docker, and other technologies.
- Design and build microservices that serve our API endpoints.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
- Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency.
- Openness to disagreement and commitment to decisions once made
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience as a Backend Engineer working on Microservices and API's
- Experience with cloud-based infrastructure and deployment tools + a strong understanding of system performance and scaling.
- Proficiency with K8s and Go, including a strong understanding of garbage collection and profiling.
- Familiarity with our tech stack: Google Cloud Platform/GKE, Linux, Docker, Ruby/Rails, and Redis
- Experience with video streaming at scale and Cgo is a bonus.
