STV is looking for a Transportation Engineer (Right-of-Way) to join the Planning team at our central Texas offices. Our work spans the life-cycle of project implementation, from planning and design through construction and system start-up and operation.

The ideal candidate for this position is a highly motivated individual with a willingness to apply emerging tools and technologies in support of public agency clients. The candidate thrives on teamwork and takes ownership of high-quality products across multiple simultaneous fast-paced projects.

Technical Responsibilities

  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and tasks, supervising team members and ensuring integration of right-of-way planning into project development.

  • Provide technical support to project teams throughout the planning, design, and construction phases.

  • Analyze the ROW impact and identify real estate required for the proposed improvements. Coordinate the preparation of GIS exhibits such as constraint and vicinity maps.

  • Assist in tracking and identifying potential risks and challenges related to land acquisition, such as environmental issues, zoning restrictions, or community opposition.

  • Assist in evaluating and documenting expenses associated with resolving any deficiencies or issues related to the acquired property.

  • Compile and evaluate data to assess potential impacts of transportation projects, coordinating with engineers for design evaluation.

  • Provide professional engineering design services for transportation improvements, ensuring quality deliverables within budget and schedule.

  • Coordinate with key support disciplines including land and property surveyors, utilities and drainage specialists, structural and geotechnical engineers, etc.

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local real estate laws, including acts like the Uniform Relocation Act and Real Property Acts.

Project Management Responsibilities

  • Attend project meetings with clients, sub-consultants, and the project team.

  • Coordinate with the design team to achieve quality deliverables within the established schedule and budget.

  • Assist in preparing technical and cost proposals for projects.

  • Document project performance, schedule milestones, and progress to ensure timely completion.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering

  • Successful completion of the PE exam, or other relevant professional certification

  • Minimum of 5+ years of progressive transportation design experience

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

  • Proficient with MicroStation

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, with emphasis on spreadsheet and database skills

  • Familiarity with AASHTO and local agency design standards is required.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

Compensation Range:

$78,005.00 - $104,007.00
