Graphic Designer
Reporting to the Design Lead, the Graphic Designer will design print and digital materials for the Massachusetts General Hospital Development Office. The work includes event collateral, fact sheets, social media assets, digital ads, PowerPoint presentations, posters, web content and other institutionally branded pieces. The Graphic Designer will gain experience in various aspects of non-profit fundraising including digital and print design, communications, marketing and special events.
We are looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is creative, detail-oriented, has strong communication skills and actively stays ahead of industry trends. Candidate must be flexible and able to collaborate and take direction from a multitude of teams/program areas across the Development Office.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Under the direction of the Design Lead:
- Design fundraising materials that adhere to Mass General Brand Standards including event collateral, fact sheets, social media assets, digital ads, PowerPoint presentations, posters, web content and other institutionally branded pieces.
- Partner with digital marketing team to create compelling designs to specs including websites, emails and motion graphics.
- Create templates for various fundraising collateral that can be repurposed by colleagues across the department.
- Update content in existing templates.
- Oversee collateral through the review process. Collect and incorporate edits and feedback through multiple iterations until complete.
- Project manage the production of collateral with printers and mail houses.
- Serve as an in-house resource for last minute and high priority design requests.
- Contribute to brainstorming and creative problem solving within Creative Services team.
- Attend meetings with various fundraising teams to brainstorm design ideas.
- Prioritize a multitude of short- and long-term projects.
- Complete other duties as assigned by the Design Lead.
- Adhere to the mission, credo, and standards of behavior of Mass General.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or a closely related field
- Proficiency in InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat, Microsoft Office, and Figma; familiarity with Wordpress a plus
- Experience with pre-production and printing
- Visual portfolio available to share

- Ability to learn and apply Mass General Brand Standards and guidelines
- Excellent attention to detail and strong proofreading skills
- Knowledge of social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn)
- A drive to keep on top of design and marketing trends and tools (AI, motion graphics, etc.)
- Ability to effectively present design concepts and strategy in a way that stakeholders, at various levels, can understand and get excited about
- Strong web-based skills and comfort with web-based communication tools
- Ability to collaborate and take direction from a multitude of teams/program areas across the Development Office
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
- Communicate well about assets needed, timelines and project logistics
- Adaptability and flexibility in times of shifting priorities
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse audiences
- Creativity and high levels of energy and enthusiasm
- Good judgment and care in dealing with confidential information
- Competency using videoconferencing platforms (Zoom and Teams preferred)
