About The Role
We are looking for our first Engineer Manager to join our team of talented and elite engineers. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in building Freed’s engineering culture of speed, responsibility, and ownership, while ensuring the team is making excellent decisions. This is a hands-on role that will require you to drive the delivery of high-quality software products while building features yourself.
How You’ll Make An Impact
- Lead and mentor a team of engineers, providing guidance and support to team members to help them grow and develop at Freed
- Establish and maintain effective engineering processes, optimizing for efficiency, scalability, and reliability
- Drive the development and implementation of product features, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and quality standards
- Help to establish and build our engineering culture, ensuring we are hiring and developing talent that encompasses these values
- Take ownership of product features and drive implementation across the backend (TypeScript) and frontend (React/TypeScript) components of our software stack.
- Build a diverse and inclusive team of engineers as we scale rapidly this year.
What We Will Bring
- 7+ years of experience in full-stack Software Engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role
- Strong technical proficiency with React, TypeScript, NodeJS, SQL, Git
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and time zones.
- A track record of building and developing high-performing teams and culture.
