What You'll Bring:

  • 1+ years of Java development experience and a strong computer science fundamentals including algorithms, data structures, and understanding of relative complexities.
  • Experience in application and data architecture disciplines.
  • Strong grasp of object-oriented programming principles and design patterns.
  • Desire to build global applications that are low-latency, fault tolerant, and scalable.
  • Understanding of distributed systems, service APIs (REST, gRPC), service-oriented architecture.
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge of advanced Java concepts such as project architecture, object-oriented programming, performance tuning, and debugging.
  • Ability to work in collaborative teams located across the globe and cross-functional technologies.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field.

We’re also looking for the preferred skills below. Whether you are proficient or could use some brushing up, we’re happy to support your development in:

  • Experience with data science and risk modelling concepts, tools, and frameworks (e.g. xgBoost) is a huge plus.
  • Experience in Agile teams.
  • Experience in AWS or Azure Cloud.
  • Experience with C and Ab Initio.
  • Experience with CI/CD, Jenkins, automation experience.
  • Experience building multi-threaded applications.
  • Programming experience in other languages, like C/C++, Python, and frameworks like AngularJS are a plus.

Impact You'll Make:

  • Design, Development, Test and Support of Data Processing applications, Internal platforms/frameworks or customized solutions using Ab Initio and other Data management tools.
  • Enhance, support, implement, provide governance for TransUnion’s Data Acquisition platform globally across the organization.
  • Involved in code reviews as a technologist for TransUnion application teams globally.
  • You will contribute to the design and development of risk modelling and attribute calculation platforms that are used in many regions around the world, including Europe, Asia, Africa, Central, and South America.
  • You’ll work with a globally distributed and highly diverse team of engineers, and collaborate with other teams within Global Technology, and throughout TransUnion.
  • Work with internal regional customers and staff to identify pain points/key constraints within existing processes that can benefit from reusable solutions, and deliver solutions addressing those pain points.

Pay Scale Information:

The salary range for this position is $58,650.00 - $96,200.00. *The salary range for this position reflects the general range of compensation for this job and does not include our bonus incentive(s). This position is eligible for bonus incentive(s). At TransUnion, actual compensation is based on careful consideration of additional factors such as (but not limited to) an individual’s education, training, work experience, job-related skill set, industry knowledge, as well as the scope and responsibilities of the position, and market considerations.
