Java Senior Developer – Low latency Algo Technology - VP

You will be a key member within the Equity Algorithmic Trading Technology team, supporting applications for Electronic clients, QPS, and Cash Equities businesses.

To be successful as a Senior Java Developer - Low latency Algo Technology, you should have experience with:

• Core Java or C++ and Linux
• Multi-threading, memory management, or performance tuning
• Building Algo/SOR/market making infrastructure and/or strategies
• Developing automated testing tools to exercise functionality, performance, and capacity of code
• Providing estimates for tasks, including design, development, technical debt, and testing

Some other highly valued skills may include:

• Development and build tools, ideally Maven, Gradle, Git, IntelliJ, Eclipse
• Full lifecycle development of a commercial system, including requirements definition, agile planning, releasing, and production support
• Ample verbal and written communication skills, together with a well-developed collaborative mindset

Purpose of the role

To design, develop, and improve software, utilizing various engineering methodologies that provide business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues.

Accountabilities

• Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions using industry-aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools, ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
• Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
• Collaboration with peers, participation in code reviews, and promotion of a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
• Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations, actively contributing to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
• Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
• Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.
