Test Engineer II with Security Clearance

Job Description

Test Engineer - II Marathon TS is seeking a Test Engineer to fulfill the position of System Software Test Engineer for the Mission Assurance (MA) Department in support of the development and sustainment of the U.S. Navy Aegis Weapons System in Moorestown, NJ.

Roles/Responsibilities:

1. Analyze system and software requirements to develop system level test cases and test procedures.
2. Manually execute test procedures, capture test results, analyze test results, and document issues.
3. Lead procedure development within a feature collaboration team.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• US Citizenship to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
• Ability to work on-site and in equipment laboratories; support testing which may occur outside regular business hours; work independently and as part of a team.
• Exceptional attention to detail, collaboration, spoken, written, and presentation skills.
• 2-4 years' experience analyzing software and hardware requirements for test or implementation in software; analyzing software functionality written in Python, Java, C, C++, or other high-level programming languages; and writing test plans, procedures, and test cases for manual testing.
• 2-4 years' experience executing different types of manual software tests on agile features; conducting user level system and software troubleshooting; gathering debug information; and performing root cause analysis of issues.
• 2-4 years' experience leading procedure development in collaboration with multiple feature engineers.
• Experience with Unix/Linux environments; requirement management systems such as DOORS; software change management systems such as ClearQuest; agile tracking software such as Jira; Microsoft Office Tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook); performing work in accordance with policy; and agile methodology such as SAFe.

Industry Experience

2 to 4 years of related experience.

Experience with the following are considered a plus:

• Real-time mission critical systems experience for example Aegis Weapon System DDS, NDDS, OpenDDS, or other publish/subscribe architectures.
• CI/CD and DevSecOps methodologies and tools.
• Other agile development methodologies.
• RedHat, RedHawk, Solaris, PowerMax_OS, Client-RT, Client-UX, VxWorks, LynxOS, or other UNIX/Linux operating systems.
• Jenkins, ClearCase, Git, and Artifactory.
• Perf, oprofile, or other software profilers.
• AN-UYK-43 computer operation or CMS-2 software development.
• Debugging core files using debuggers such as gdb, in particular with C/C++ executable programs.
• Certifications in cyber security, software development, test, engineering, or agile.
