Role Summary:

Forge’s software engineering team is passionate about innovation and building scalable solutions that drive liquidity and growth in the private market. Our teams are leveraging a broad range of new technologies and are well-versed in delivering high quality, innovative solutions. We are seeking engineers with at least 6 years of experience delivering innovative software solutions that are scalable, secure, and easy to maintain. The ideal candidate thrives in team settings, enjoys pair programming, and focuses on delivering value.

Our Platform Engineering team’s mission is to engineer best-in-class platforms and developer experiences that increase system performance and maximize developer productivity.

Expectations of the role include engineering scalable cloud native solutions, efficient developer toolchains that work anywhere (localhost, remote, cloud), core services, automated developer onboarding, automated infrastructure, CI/CD, and secure supply chain. This will be a hybrid role where you'll be onsite 1-2 days a week.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain containerized systems and toolchains that power development environments and run responsive and reliable full-stack web applications
  • Build and strengthen developer environment, application frameworks, and CI/CD scripts that support a myriad of platforms and technologies
  • Work with developers, architects, and tech leads to arrive at solutions that improve the developer experience and ensure platform health and adoption
  • Engage with development teams across the company to evangelize platform capabilities, best practices, and adoption
  • Develop concise, articulate, and detailed technical documentation
  • Leverage Agile and Lean practices as part of a team
  • Participate in analysis/research, refine technical requirements, and execute assigned work items
  • Design, build and maintain application infrastructure using infrastructure as code
  • Support healthy system operations and ensure high levels of availability are achieved through observability and continuous improvement

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience, coupled with at least 6 years in software engineering, platform engineering, or DevOps
  • Advanced knowledge of public cloud platforms with proven experience with AWS, along with experience in container technologies and orchestration (Docker, Compose, Kubernetes, etc.)
  • Experience with one or more CI/CD toolchains such as GitHub, CircleCI, Jenkins, etc.
  • Experience developing production applications with a range of programming languages
  • Experience with various scripting languages (shell, bash, etc.)
  • Experience developing multi-tier distributed web applications using modern techniques
  • Experience with one or more configuration management and infrastructure automation tools such as Puppet, Ansible or Terraform
  • Experience with log analysis tools such as Splunk, Datadog, Honeycomb or ELK stack
  • Must be able to sit and/or stand for long periods of time in an at home/office setting while working

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in developing application frameworks, particularly with .NET Core or Java, and experience in building single-page applications using React
  • Fintech or Financial services industry experience with working knowledge of financial regulators and their concerns. Working knowledge of the private capital market highly desired
  • Experience at high-growth, venture-backed startups
  • Advanced knowledge of Postgres database administration
  • Cloud based network administration
