Job Description:
A large government integrator partner is hiring remote Jr. Data Engineers to support the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and ensure program integrity through advanced integration of data. With ETL development, requirements analysis, reporting, and automation, this team is preventing and fighting against fraud and abuse of healthcare data for citizens across the country. BIG opportunity to work alongside a federal civilian agency with a strong mission to ensure the wellbeing of their clients! Only eligible for Permanent Status visas and unable to work with sponsorship visas.

Requirements:

• 2+ years of data engineering experience – collecting, managing, and converting raw data for analytics and reporting
• Experience with APIs (Apache NiFi or Kafka) for ETL development
• Extensive hands-on experience with Postgres and SQL databases
• Python programming experience
• Excellent communication skills with ability to collaborate with all levels within the organization
• Must be able to obtain a Public Trust, Tier 2 clearance (successfully pass a thorough Government background screening process including fingerprinting)
• B.S. Degree

Nice to have:

• Experience with migrations from DB2 legacy database to Postgres or AWS Aurora
• Experience supporting CMS working with healthcare data
• AWS Cloud experience

Responsibilities:

• Support CMS to build systems that collect, manage, and convert raw data into usable information for data scientists and business analysts to interpret.
• Develop solutions that optimize data flow and reporting for cross-functional teams.
• Implement methods to improve data reliability and quality.
• Develop and test architectures that enable data extraction and transformation for predictive or prescriptive modeling.
• Support the design and development of data infrastructure, run tests, and conduct analyses.
