Job Title: CNC Programmer/Operator - Mesa, AZ
Job Purpose
Dynalectric-Arizona, a specialty contractor serving the electrical constructions needs of our community, is stepping into the manufacturing space with the purpose of fabricating select product families entirely in house. We have purchased and are setting up various pieces of CNC equipment for our shop including routers, punches, lasers, press brakes, plate rolls, welders, and automated material storage systems. We are looking for an enthusiastic, technically minded person with CNC experience and a desire to grow to join our tight-knit team and serve as our first programmer and operator, laying the foundation for our manufacturing team and operations.
Objective
You will be the primary point of contact for all programming and operational needs related to our two 3-axis CNC routers. Programming will be carried out in Mastercam. You will be tasked with operating and maintaining the routers that you program to ensure that ideal programming practices are understood and implemented.
We respect that programming and operating are two unique skillsets and that in time these jobs may be carried out by different and dedicated personnel for each. However, it is our objective that all programmers have an intimate understanding and working knowledge of the equipment they program, and the maintenance entailed by each. As time, operations, and skills progress, you will have the opportunity to be involved in further establishing programming and operating practices for all CNC and automated equipment brought in house if desired.

Programming CNC Routers:
Working conditions
Mostly office and shop based. Typical working hours for the may vary but generally, Monday – Friday during normal business hours. When deadlines approach longer hours, including some weekend work, may be required. Some travel may be required for training/continuing education.
Physical requirements
A CNC programmer/operator is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Programming CNC Routers:
- Develop and optimize CNC programs for 3-axis CNC routers (Mastercam CAD/CAM software).
- Ensure programs are efficient and finished products meet quality standards.
- Modify existing programs to improve efficiency and performance.
- Set up and operate 3-axis CNC routers to produce parts according to specifications.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on CNC routers.
- Monitor machine operations to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining.
- Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality and design specifications.
- Make adjustments to machine settings as necessary to maintain product quality.
- Work closely with design and engineering teams to understand project requirements.
- Provide feedback on design feasibility and suggest improvements.
- Communicate effectively with team members and management.
- Stay updated with the latest CNC programming techniques and technologies.
- Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance skills.
- Show a willingness to learn and adapt to new equipment and processes.
- Perform regular maintenance on CNC routers and other equipment.
- Diagnose and resolve issues with CNC machinery, coordinating with manufacturers as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Utilize SolidWorks (preferred) or Inventor for designing and modifying parts.
- Create detailed technical drawings and 3D models for CNC programming.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines of Dynalectric and the equipment manufacturers.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Proficiency in CNC programming and operation.
- Experience with CAD software, preferably SolidWorks.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to learn and grow with the company.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing processes and shop layout.
- Proven implementation of DFMA and Lean principles a plus.
- Experience in active manufacturing facilities preferred.
- Technical literacy in use of computers, ERPs, and digital management platforms.
- Thorough understanding of the policies and practices used in the manufacturing industry.
- Ability to set long-term goals, communicate them to others, and pursue them to completion.
- Ability to motivate and organize multiple efforts to accomplish goals.
- Must have valid driver license/insurance and reliable transportation.
