Job Requirements / Description
We are looking for a self-starter who can make a positive impact from day one on the job. The Controls Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing complex control systems for warehouse and manufacturing automation including multi-axis CNC machines.
Responsibilities:
- Ability to work in a team environment with other engineers and technical professionals.
- Develop new technical ideas from proof-of-concept to finished product.
- Design training material or manuals as it relates to controls.
- Responsible for ongoing testing and code development of new products.
- Travel to factories to support the manufacturing challenges.
- Support commissioning/product launch.
- Travel to customer sites and trade shows.
- Some weekend work is required.
- Stay up to date on technology.
- Always be looking for unique solutions/ideas to automation challenges.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or related Engineering discipline.
- Must have proven experience designing and implementing automation solutions in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in IT Systems and Networks.
- Must have 5 or more years of experience in testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting material handling and manufacturing control systems.
- Must have 5 or more years of experience with Allen Bradley hardware/software.
- Must have 5 or more years of experience designing electrical panels.
- Must have experience creating electrical schematics.
- Experience with Fanuc, Kuka, Yaskawa, ABB, and other robot platforms including welding applications.
- Must have the skill set to generate budgetary proposals/estimates for control systems based on sitting in on round table discussions of new projects, machines, and/or site surveys of potential projects.
- Strong electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
