Product Engineer

Our client in the Buffalo, NY area is seeking a Product Engineer to independently and collaboratively assist in the planning, design, and development of new products and manufacturing processes, according to customer specifications and in accordance with company standard operating procedures.

This role will support senior engineers and provide technical expertise throughout the product lifecycle, ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and compliance.

Salary Range: $65,000-$80,000

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Coordinate development and startup activities with internal departments and customers, managing and maintaining project schedules to meet deadlines.
• Review customer specifications and translate them into detailed product engineering specifications.
• Outline and define materials, processes, tooling, and labor content required for product development.
• Prepare engineering documentation, including prints, bills of materials, and process documents.
• Design, develop, qualify, and validate manufacturing tooling, equipment, and processes.
• Maintain engineering documents to reflect changes in customer, vendor, or internal specifications.
• Stay up to date with new technologies (processes, materials, and equipment) that can improve cost margins, manufacturability, safety, throughput, and yields.
• Assist the sales department in estimating materials, labor, and tooling for quotations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, professional journals, and governmental regulations.
• Apply advanced mathematical and analytical concepts to tasks, including variance analysis, correlation techniques, and sampling theory.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications, email systems, and task-specific software.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work with CAD software and other engineering tools.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Biomedical, or related field) or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
