Our Northern California offices have an opening for a self-motivated engineer with 10+ years of experience to work on projects related to study, condition assessment and design of drinking water, water reuse, stormwater, and wastewater infrastructure. Detailed Description:

  1. Manage projects and tasks for projects related to conveyance infrastructure including pump stations, new pipelines and rehabilitation design. This includes support on medium to large projects.
  2. Participate in business development as part of a client service team or as a client service manager.
  3. Conduct technical evaluations to support planning, condition assessment and design related activities.
  4. Provide support on a variety of conveyance infrastructure and master planning projects.
  5. Assist and lead preparation of calculations, technical memoranda, reports, drawings, specifications, and miscellaneous contract documents.
  6. Coordinate civil project work with geotechnical, architectural, process, mechanical, and electrical engineers and consultants.
  7. Check performance or conformity with plans and specifications as part of engineering services during construction.
  8. Assist with submittal reviews, requests for information, correspondence, change requests, and change orders for construction projects.
  9. Conduct field work as necessary for various projects.
  10. Communicate effectively and coordinate with project teams including other disciplines (drafters, designers, and other engineers).
  11. Successfully manage and deliver assignments on time and on budget.
  12. Adhere to Brown and Caldwell's QA/QC process.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  1. Self-starter, results-oriented, and ability to work under deadlines.
  2. Bachelor's degree in Civil/Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field required.
  3. Desire to work on projects related to drinking water, water reuse, stormwater and wastewater conveyance infrastructure.
  4. California PE license.
  5. Field/construction experience and/or NASSCO certification a plus.
  6. Good technical skills with the ability to articulate ideas and concepts.
  7. Excellent technical writing and communication skills.
  8. Ability to work both independently and on large coordinated teams.
  9. Ability and willingness to perform field work at various sites.
  10. Knowledge of standard software including MS Office, Outlook, MathCAD and Bluebeam.
  11. Strong aptitude for researching and solving technical problems.

Salary Range: The anticipated starting pay range for this position is based on the employee's primary work location and may be more or less depending upon skills, experience, and education. These ranges may be modified in the future.

Location C: $128,000 - $174,000
