CNC Operator

As a CNC Programmer / Operator , you will be responsible for programming, setting-up, and operating Computer Numerical Control (CNC) routers and other CNC machinery in our Benton Township Production facility.
Your Blueprint for Success:

• Program with Excellence - Perform CNC programming for routers and other machinery, transfer product design criteria into machine requirements and then transfer engineering drawings and CAD files into CAM software.
• Customer Focus - Work with customers and vendors to determine product specifications in order to evaluate products according to expectations and quality standards.
• Teamwork - Collaborate with management, engineering and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules to facilitate production processes.
• Inspect to perfect - Assist with inspection, qualification and validation of tools, fixtures, etc., using basic inspection equipment. Analyze inspection reports to determine adherence to drawings, specifications, and processing procedures.
• Safety First - Ensuring all work is done following our safety guidelines.

Required Skills:

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent experience; with a minimum of two (2) years of CNC experience and machining experience in a tool shop or manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated experience using Mastercam and WB SysTech software applications.
• Able to work from written or verbal instructions, detailed engineering drawings and be knowledgeable CNC operations
• Possess the ability to run programs which have been created on the applicable machines.
• Must be detail oriented, able to work independently as a problem-solver and have the ability to finish projects in a timely manner.
• Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers via verbal or written correspondence.
• Strong project management skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Skills:

• Associate degree in precision machining, technologies, or relevant experience

Special-Lite manufactures engineered architectural products, which includes commercial entrance systems, interior aluminum (Type II) framing with swing or sliding aluminum framed doors, and FRP restroom partitions. Our interior and exterior complete entrance system products are fiberglass or aluminum flush doors with many door face texture options including wood grain, aluminum monumental (stile & rail) doors, fiberglass and aluminum framing. Our engineered, made to order architectural products are used in new construction and renovation projects for educational, commercial, institutional, industrial and municipal applications. The company was founded in 1971 and pioneered the use of fiberglass reinforced polyester (FRP) material for door skins in the early 1980's, and today is the largest volume producer of commercial FRP doors in the United States.
