Purpose:
- Hill Technical Solutions, a Valkyrie company, is hiring for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team supporting development, integration, test, and evaluation in Hardware in the Loop labs in our Huntsville, AL location.
- The ideal candidate will have experience with avionics hardware within real-time closed-loop simulation environments.
- Test and evaluate specific systems with a team of engineers.
- Test fixtures and prototypes may be required to diagnose or test specific components.
- Hands-on testing, diagnostic work as well as software integration and development.
- Integrate avionics hardware within real-time closed-loop simulation environments.
- Debug software and hardware issues.
- Create and maintain cable diagrams and schematics.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful integration of avionics hardware.
- Provide technical support to other teams as needed.
- Interaction with customers and vendors will be required.
- Must have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering or science field and at least 5 years of experience in avionics hardware integration.
- Must be proficient in debugging issues (Electronics and Software).
- Must be familiar with Cable Diagrams and Schematics.
- Must have excellent skills in Customer and Team Communication and Collaboration.
- Must have the ability to work with software and hardware.
- Must have software familiarity (Ability to read and understand) and the ability to Document and explain work.
- Multitasking of multiple parallel efforts.
- Circuit and Printed Circuit Design
- FPGA Programming/Implementation Familiarity
- C++, Fortran, Python
- Cisco TCL
- Desired Toolsets and familiarity: Microsoft Visual Studio Code, Oscilloscopes, Function Generators, Multimeters, MATLAB, Lumi-Star Telemetry, Cisco Switches, National Instruments LabView, Xilinx Vivado, Spirent GPS Simulator (PosApp), Safran/Orolia Broadsim (Skydel), RS422/RS232, 1553, PWM, Opto-Isolated Components, Ethernet, Analog Inputs/Outputs, etc.
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.
- Occasional travel- less than 10%

- May require working in an office, industrial, shipboard, or laboratory environment.
- Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods, moving about to accomplish tasks, or moving from one worksite to another.
