Wireless Networks Engineer II
We are looking for an experienced C/C++ developer with an intimate understanding of and experience in wireless MAC and 5G network engineering. This engineer will assist with the design, implementation, test, and optimization of the NG-RAN network interface in both proprietary Massive MIMO systems for Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) as well as Open-RAN 5G NR mobility systems.
On a day to day basis, this person will work closely with other engineers to design, simulate, and implement NG-RAN/Core network integrations for Skylark’s FWA and Open-RAN 5G product lines. This developer will be responsible for integrating, testing, and continually interacting with hardware and firmware teams to ensure optimized real-time performance of the developed software on our radio products.
Since this hire will play a key role in product development, strong testing and debugging skills are necessary, as the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring integration with Skylark’s continuous integration systems and addressing bugs and quality control feedback from lab and field operation.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Expert in C/C++ software development
- Wireless Systems & Protocols: 802.11ax, 5GNR, or OFDMA
- Wireless Networking: NG-RAN, 3GPP TS 23.501
- Strong ability to troubleshoot/debug Linux-based network applications
- Degree in electrical or computer engineering
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Ideal Skills & Qualifications
- Python scripting
- Multi-threaded application design and implementation (x86)
- Working knowledge of radio physics and algorithms related to OFDMA and digital beamforming
- Working knowledge of embedded systems and FPGA-based platforms
- 5G protocol simulation experience
- Git, code versioning, Jenkins CI systems
