Job Description:

Working with a small Data Engineering team, you will play a critical role in transforming raw data into well-formed models to accelerate research for Pure Lithium’s battery technology.


You will interact directly with scientists in the laboratory, translating their requirements into code. As you architect data models primed for analytics, you will act as the point person for researchers, building dashboards and other reporting layers.


Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with research scientists and engineers to gather requirements for reporting
  • Design and build data models, include tables and views
  • Productionize your analysis using data orchestration tools
  • Configure and optimize cloud data warehouses, including permissions, compute and storage parameters, and table schemas
  • Ensure the data warehouse is a trustworthy source for reporting purposes by building automated tests and tracking data lineage
  • Craft dashboards, leveraging your visualization and presentation skills


Qualifications:

  • Expertise in SQL data transformations using tools like dbt
  • Knowledge of data modeling approaches and philosophies such as Kimball
  • Expertise with at least one cloud data warehouse: Snowflake, Redshift
  • Experience using version control systems such as Git and collaboration platforms such as GitHub
  • Knowledge of Python for data visualization and analysis: Streamlit, Dash, Plotly, Matplotlib
  • Experience with analytics or business intelligence tools like Hex, Jupyter Notebooks, Tableau
  • Knowledge of common data integration/orchestration platforms such as Prefect, Dagster, Fivetran, or Airflow
