Senior Project Developer I - Commercial and Industrial

Summary of Position Functions

The Senior Project Developer will support enterprise sales with sales strategy on individual enterprise accounts in the commercial and industrial markets.

Essential Position Functions

1. Assists business development with sales strategy on individual enterprise accounts.
2. Develops project and deal economics to assist in the sale of enterprise accounts.
3. Identifies strategies to implement energy projects effectively and profitably in these vertical markets across the nation.
4. Develops relationships with subcontractors in multiple geographies.
5. Analyzes the opportunities for energy savings.
6. Develops policies and procedures for regions to adopt as enterprise sales gain momentum.
7. Works with internal partners in development and project management.

Education and Qualifications

1. Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in a relevant field of study; and 10+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
2. Advanced engineering degree is preferred.
3. Proven successful track record in a complex sales or project development environment, preferably in energy efficiency, solar, and/or energy storage fields.
4. Demonstrated proficiency in relationship building, lead generation, navigation of technical and financial obstacles, contracting procedures, and deal closings.
5. Must possess a strong understanding of the enterprise verticals and their energy systems (industrial and healthcare).
6. Must possess strong technical knowledge in key technologies such as lighting, HVAC, central plants, refrigeration, and compressed air and steam systems.
7. Must possess a strong knowledge of development of renewable energy technologies including solar, biogas, and wind.
8. Ability to travel more than 50% of the time.

1. Knowledge of Veregy's services and processes is required which can be obtained through intellect, technical inclination, and dedication to gain such knowledge.
2. Knowledge (Intermediate to advanced) of various operating systems, software products (e.g. MS Office, etc.) is required.
3. Ability to work independently and efficiently manage time / workload.
4. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports, business, professional, and technical documents.
5. Ability to effectively respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers and staff.
6. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
7. Ability to write presentations, articles, routine reports, proposals, and correspondence.
8. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management and staff.
9. Ability to speak and communicate effectively before customers and staff.
10. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts and percentages.
11. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
12. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
13. Ability to prioritize tasks and tactfully negotiate priority with end users.
14. Ability to work under deadline pressure and extra hours if needed.
