Responsibilities:
- Lead, oversee, review, and execute structural engineering tasks for a variety of projects related to assessment and restoration design of concrete, masonry, steel, wood elements and structures. Engineering tasks include detailed design, calculations, and development of repair details and specifications.
- Assign project tasks and provide technical guidance to junior-level team members. Work directly with project managers to help implement project goals; delegate duties to junior-level staff; oversee and conduct quality checks on project aspects such as schedule, deliverables, and invoicing; mentor and train junior-level team members.
- Productively interact with client representatives and SME subcontractors.
- Help to enhance the visibility of SME’s expertise through participation in professional organizations outside of regular employment.
- Exemplify safe work practices and follow the company’s compliance standards.

- Competency using computer operating systems and MS Office Suite programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

- Effective interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients and team members.
- Ability to understand and adapt to change and react productively to frequent interruptions.
- Basic construction competencies including ability to interpret surveys, road maps, and topographic maps.
- Aptitude for identifying and resolving complex technical problems in the field.
- Demonstrates ethical conduct, maintaining confidentiality and ensuring safety in all aspects of work.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to safely use and operate ladders, scaffolds, lifts, and other equipment to access buildings for data recording.
- Ability to learn new concepts and adapt to challenges.
- Ability to work overtime, including weekends as needed.
- Ability to work efficiently and organized both independently and with a team.
- Medically fit to use a respiratory protective device and other personal protective equipment.
- Ability to work in varied environments, including confined spaces and at heights greater than six feet.
- Travel locally and out-of-area; valid driver’s license and passport required.
- Possible limited international travel.

Qualifications
Education: Bachelors or better in Civil Engineering or related field.
Experience: 10 years required.
Licenses & Certifications: PE required.
