Job Description

At Aperia, we rely on a dynamic team of developers. We’re seeking a Data Visualization Engineer who is ready to work with new technologies and architectures in a forward-thinking organization that’s always pushing boundaries.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Design and develop Power BI reports and dashboards to meet the business stakeholders’ needs
2. Gather and understand business requirements for data visualization and analysis
3. Recommend optimal visualizations for insightful, actionable business use
4. Collaborate with data engineers and analysts to acquire and transform data for reporting purposes
5. Ensure compliance with data security best practices
6. Troubleshoot and resolve issues in Power BI reports

Required:

1. 5+ years creating data visualizations
2. 3+ years with Power BI report/dashboard development
3. Expertise in using different Power BI functionalities
4. Experience developing DAX calculations and M (Power) Queries
5. Experience with developing interactive dashboards –e.g., parameters, actions, navigation –for ease-of-use.
6. Proficiency in creating dataflows and data-marts. Experience in composite models
7. Knowledge of Power BI contexts and its types
8. Exposure to applying security to Reports, Apps and workspaces
9. 3+ years SQL experience (Oracle preferred)
10. Experience in connecting to and leveraging multitude data sources including Hive, Impala, and Oracle
11. Experience in creating pixel perfect reports using Power BI report builder
12. Excellent analytical thinking for translating data into informative visuals and reports

Preferred:

1. Familiarity with Cloudera Hadoop
2. Knowledge in emerging cloud technologies related to Big Data
3. Previous experience in Finance/Banking industry
