Job details
- Perform, and/or review, technical security assessments of enclaves within network to identify points of vulnerability, non-compliance with established IA standards and regulations and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Validate and verify system security requirements definitions and analysis and establish system security designs.
- Design, develop, implement and/or integrate IA and related security systems, components, and controls for enclaves.
- Build IA into systems deployed to operational environments.
- Assist network architects and systems engineers in the identification and implementation of appropriate information security functionality to ensure uniform application of DOD security policy for network systems and enclaves.
- Support the design and implementation of security architectures.
- Enforce the design and implementation of trusted relations among external systems and architectures.
- Assess and mitigate system security threats/risks throughout the life cycle of systems and enclaves.
- Contribute to the security planning, assessment, risk analysis, risk management, certification, and awareness activities for systems and networking operations.
- Review A&A documentation and provide feedback on completeness and compliance of content.
- Apply systems security engineering expertise in support of network operations, including: system security design process; security engineering life cycle; system integration; risk management; intrusion detection; contingency planning; incident handling; configuration control; change management; auditing; certification and accreditation process; principles of IA (confidentiality, integrity, non-repudiation, availability, and access control); and security testing.
- Support security authorization activities in compliance with the DoD RMF, NIST RMF process, and related business processes for security engineering.
- Maintain a professional attitude and commitment to providing high-quality service in a team-oriented environment.
Responsibilities:
- 10 years of experience as an ISSE or equivalent job title/responsibilities on large multi-site and campus-wide Windows Server-based hybrid cloud network environments.
- Experience serving as a security engineering representative on engineering teams for the design, development, implementation and/or integration of: (1) secure networking, computing, and enclave environments, and (2) IA architectures, systems, or system components.
- Demonstrated knowledge of IA policy, procedures, and workforce structure to support the design, development, and implementation of secure networking, computing, and enclave environments.
- Ability to support enforcement of design and implementation of trusted relationships among external systems and architectures.
- Ability to support security planning, assessment, risk analysis, and risk management.
- Ability to identify and manage overall security requirements for the proper handling of Government data.
- Demonstrated experience performing system or network designs that encompass multiple enclaves including heterogeneous hybrid-cloud wide area network environments.
- Proficiency in technical writing.
- Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
