Purpose: Develop all packaging and labels for Eddie Bauer Brand to meet brand identity and vision, legal requirements and company financial goals. Drive R&D, development and commercialization of packaging, including stickers, hangtags, woven, paper labels and polybags for all channels of Eddie Bauer business. Ensure all packaging meets brand positioning as well as any regulations and specific legal requirements.

Job Responsibilities

  • Drive packaging and labeling lifecycle by managing from development through production for both wholesale and inline products.
  • Partner and advise design and merchant on packaging that enables execution of seasonal product developments and meets legal requirements and regulations.
  • Input and maintain packaging and labeling details from project hand-off to Production for assigned products; work closely with inline and wholesale teams to ensure specifications are met throughout the product development process.
  • Drive R&D and counter development with multiple resources and multiple bids to ensure best quality, costing, and timing for all packaging and labels for the brand.
  • Drive delivering packaging development on-time and in support of primary allocation of products and sourcing strategies.
  • Have an active voice in cost review meetings to support finalizing trims and packaging and costing for market samples.
  • Ensure timelines for trims and packaging production approvals meet business critical deadlines.
  • Support Sourcing/Senior Manager with final trims and packaging negotiations to meet cost targets.
  • Build external supplier partnerships; support Senior Manager with establishing/updating policies and protocol.
  • Collaborate with and propose solutions on packaging development and production issues. Escalate packaging issues to Senior Manager/Sourcing with proposals for resolution and when required.
  • Track and maintain all packaging approvals for final bulk approval and packaging library.
  • Key Internal Business Partners are design, merchandising, sourcing, sales, QA, technical design, marketing and production team in Asia.
  • Ensure supplier compliance for production submits for each customer and channel.
  • Drive packaging cost accuracy across systems/records.
  • Drive bulk packaging to align artwork and actual development samples with customer requirements.
  • Review development tests against Eddie Bauer or customer test standards.
  • Support department workload by assisting other Material/Trim Developers as needed
  • Perform such other duties as directed by the supervisor

Qualifications

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred; A two-year technical degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Minimum of TBD years of experience in TBD
  • 2+ minimum years work experience in packaging manufacturing, development, and packaging-specific regulations, sourcing, product development and production.
  • Able to manage multiple timelines across multiple business types.
  • Intermediate experience with project management tools (Aspire, Wrike, Excel and Word)
  • Previous experience working within a Retail environment (product development, production, merchandising, planning, etc.)
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Strong problem solving and negotiating skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Hybrid schedule is 3+ days per week in-office, working from the Seattle HQ (located in SoDo neighborhood)
  • Minimal Travel may be required, based on business needs.
  • Adhere to regular in-office presence, including engaging in in-person team interaction, meetings and collaboration. Job duties may be performed effectively using the hybrid work program designated by the company.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor as the company retains the right to change duties to this position.
  • Must have authorization to work in the United States.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular and timely attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state and local standards and Company’s policy.
  • Ability to remain in a stationary position for up to 8 hours per day
  • Ability to constantly operate a computer, other office equipment and look at a monitor for up to 8 hours per day
  • Ability to clearly and accurately communicate and exchange information verbally, in writing, or through other means in person, telephonically, or through virtual communication methods
  • Ability to position self to reach at or below shoulder level

The salary range for this position is $70,000 - $85,000 annually. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to position offered and work experience.
