Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking self-driven and resourceful Senior Network Engineers to join our dynamic Network and Unified Communications Architecture team in Alexandria, VA. The team provides IT hardware and software to support the goals of the contract, including performance-based C4IM services, product support, and O&M for both legacy and newly installed systems.

The ideal candidate shall possess both the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Certification and Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Certification. Specific hands-on technical experience with Cisco collaboration tools, Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM), and Cisco Meeting Server (CMS) is highly desirable.

As a Senior Network Engineer , you will bring your years of experience and expertise to propel the team to success and will be a pivotal member of a team that drives work forward within the program. The work is hands-on and requires engineers that can work with limited guidance, and you will provide technical guidance to junior engineers. You will support the creation and review of network designs, conduct hardware evaluations in a lab, and with vendors.

The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for but not limited to:

• Create/modify network drawings, author system engineering documents and plans
• Support design, test, and pre-deployment readiness reviews
• Support the network operations of the Production system
• Provide recommendations on modern engineering approaches and strategies to improve successful task order deployments
• Develop, implement, and manage network engineering processes including configuration management and design standards
• Perform capacity planning of the network by monitoring and analyzing network performance and availability
• Research and evaluate tools and technologies to increase performance and lower the total cost of ownership

** This role requires flexibility with scheduled support of occasional ASI/outages after hours and on weekends **

** This role is approved for Hybrid support, Flexible for occasional telework - must be local to work location. May require up to 10% travel, based on customer needs **

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• An active/current TS/SCI Security Clearance.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering (or similar technical field) and eight (8) years relevant experience; or a Master's degree and six (6) years of relevant experience; or a PhD and three (3) years of experience; or a High School Diploma/GED and 12 relevant years of experience in the above-cited duties may be substituted in lieu of a completed higher education degree.
• Must possess both a CCNA Certification and CCNP Certification.
• Experience with the design, implementation, and support of network infrastructure solutions for routing and switching of complex networks.
• Experience implementing and troubleshooting WAN topologies leveraging ethernet, T-Carrier, and Optical Carrier circuits.
• Experience and understanding of networking fundamentals such as network protocols and common services (e.g., DNS, FTP, SSH, SNMP).
• Experience with CCNA and CCNP layer 2 and 3 network configurations to include OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, VLANs, and IPSEC enabled GRE tunnels.
• Implementation and troubleshooting experience of networks using concepts/protocols such as BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VPNs and emerging concepts such as Software Defined Networking.
• Prior experience supporting a Government and/or Department of Defense customer.

Desired Qualifications:

• Specific hands-on technical collaborative experience with Cisco collaboration tools, CUCM/CM, CMS, and Meeting Server/ VQ.
• Current/valid IAT LVL III Certification (Security+ CE, CCNP, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP, GCED, GCIH, and CCSP).
• Eight (8+) total years of experience in the architecture/design, development, and implementation of Wide Area Network (WAN) architecture.
• An Engineering degree with a networking focus.
• Exceptional verbal, written (including the development of CONOPS and procedural documentation), interpersonal, and presentation skills.
• Experience using Python to automate routine network tasks.
• Understanding and experience with Software Defined Network (SDN) deployments.
• Juniper Enterprise Routing and Switching, Professional (JNCIP-ENT).
• Advanced network monitoring and log analysis tool experience.
• Experience working in a telecommunications carrier environment performing mission-critical network implementations.
• Self-driven and resourceful in achieving goals independently as well as in cooperation with others.
• Experience with application of DoD IAVAs, DISA STIGs, and NIST security controls.

Salary Range Estimates: $135,000 - $216,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
