Mission Technologies, a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries, is looking for a qualified individual to fill the role of a Software Engineer for their Advanced Modeling and Simulation Technical Operation. This person would work with a team that creates high-visibility 3-D Maintenance and Operator training software for DDG-51 (all flights), LHD-1, LHD-8, and LCS class ships using Unreal Engine versions 3-5 and Visual Studio C++/C#. This person should have a good understanding of the requirements, design, implementation, and testing phases of software engineering for software development.
Responsibilities
- Designs, develops, documents, tests, and debugs software and systems with logical and mathematical solutions.
- Determines software and system requirements; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems related to program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops utility programs using C++/C# in a Visual Studio Environment.
- Some mechanical/electrical experience is a plus.
- Ensures software standards are met.
Minimum Qualifications
• 2 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 0 years experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 years relevant experience.
Preferred Requirements
• Working knowledge of C++/C# in a Visual Studio environment
• Unreal Engine experience a plus
• Good software debugging skills
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 products a plus
• Military experience a plus
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance
