Chief Engineer

About the Company:

Golden Vertex Corporation seeks a safety-minded individual with a strong drive and enthusiasm to advance our organization by working with the Technical Services Division. This position requires a safety-minded individual with strong drive and enthusiasm to advance our organization forward by establishing safe, environmentally responsible, technically sound, and economically feasible plans for the development and operation of the ore body and mine.

About the Role:

• Assists with the management of the geological and geotechnical engineering functions including on-site exploration
• Assists with the management in the development of required LOM plans
• Monitors mine development and operation progress. Identifies deviations and recommends corrective action
• Oversees implementation of the medium and long-term mine plans
• Monitors, contributes to, and reports on regulatory compliance of mining activities
• Reviews department costs, explains variances, and identifies cost reduction opportunities
• Assists with generating monthly, quarterly, and annual reports on Engineering and Mine Department performance
• Develops, recommends, and monitors operating procedures
• Maintains operating standards
• Ensures Load & Haul runs are always up to date for the daily shift calculation of ton-miles
• Validates run parameters regularly through driving the route
• Ensures Operation Shift Plans fit with the Mine Plan
• Review shift results with the Operations Teams

Qualifications:

• Education and /or Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Mine Engineering
• Minimum of 5-10 years' experience in an open pit, hard rock mining
• Gold mining experience is preferred
• Must be able to demonstrate attention to detail
• Understand basic statistical analysis techniques
• Contractor and contract management is preferred
• Working knowledge of mining software
