Job Requirements / Description
The electrician specializes in installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in buildings and structures. They are responsible for ensuring the proper functioning of electrical wiring, fixtures, and equipment to provide electricity for various purposes. 

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities 

Tasks may include, but are not limited to, the following: 

Execute electrical wiring plans for well-functioning lighting, intercom, and other electrical systems. 

Install electrical apparatus, fixtures, and equipment for alarm and other systems. 

Install safety and distribution components (e.g., switches, resistors, circuit-breaker panels, etc.) 

Connect wiring in electrical circuits and networks, ensuring compatibility of components. 

Prepare and assemble conduits and connect wiring through them. 

Prevent system breakdown by routinely inspecting and replacing old wiring and insulated cables, cleaning circuits, etc. 

Perform effective troubleshooting to identify hazards or malfunctions and repair or substitute damaged units. 

 

Qualifications: Education, Experience, and Skills 

Required: 

Experience working as an electrician. 

High school diploma. 

An electrician degree from a technical college is preferred. 

Deep electrical system, power generation, blueprints, maintenance, and repair knowledge. 

 

License/Certification 

Preferred:  

Completion of electrician apprenticeship. 

Valid driver's license. 

 

Associated Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 

Proven experience as an electrician. 

Experience in industrial and/or commercial electrical systems. 

Demonstrable ability to use electrical and hand tools (e.g., wire strippers, voltmeter, etc.) and electrical drawings and blueprints. 

Thorough knowledge of safety procedures and legal regulations and guidelines. 

Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving ability. 

Excellent physical condition and flexibility to work long shifts and overnight.

Working Environment & Conditions/Physical Requirements

Exposures include hazardous materials, loud noise, or extreme heat/cold.  

Essential physical requirements include climbing, standing, stooping, or typing.  

Physical effort/lifting, such as sedentary - up to 10 pounds; light – up to 20 pounds; medium – up to 50 pounds; heavy – over 50 pounds. 

Indicate if you must work weekends or nights or be on-call as a regular part of the job. 

Travel requirements (25-50%) 

Employees can work in various weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, or snow. They may also be exposed to sun, wind, and dust. 

Equipment or Machines Routinely Used in This Position 

This would include possibly hand tools, power tools, etc., for the field or computer/laptop, keyboard, and mouse for office staff… 

 

 Review Procedures 

Evaluation after 90 days of employment. 

Annual Performance Review.
