Software Engineering Manager:
Intramotev is seeking an experienced Software Engineering Manager to lead software team members for the development of self-propelled rail vehicles. The successful candidate will be the manager overseeing and supporting the software engineering departments with a strong technical background with a product focus (managing complex technical projects, developing requirements, managing budget, and building/delivering products), customer focus (managing/meeting customer requirements, timelines/delivery milestones), and a strategic vision (team goals, hiring engineers, and prioritizing projects). This role requires extensive software engineering experience along with multi-disciplinary skills. This position will be based out of St. Louis, MO. A small amount of domestic travel to support integration, demonstration, and customer engagement will be required.
Position Responsibilities:
- Design strategies for future development projects based on the company's overall objectives and resources.
- Implement innovative technologies related to embedded systems, vehicle architecture and controls, and infrastructure.
- Hire engineers and coordinate their training.
- Oversee front-end and back-end software development teams and their projects.
- Monitor reliability and performance of all internal systems to suggest improvements.
- Ensure compliance with security regulations.
- Coordinate with external stakeholders for new integrations and tools.
- Review and update policies relevant to internal systems and equipment.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or relevant field.
- Previous experience as an engineering manager or in a similar senior-level position within a software engineering department.
- Extensive hands-on experience in both back-end and front-end development.
- Good understanding of system engineering processes.
- Strong leadership abilities and strategic focus.
- Excellent project management skills.
- U.S. Person (immigration or work visa sponsorship will not be provided).
- Willing to travel occasionally domestically and internationally for customer visits.
- Fluent in both written and verbal English.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Candidate should have a working knowledge of one or (ideally) multiple areas listed below:
- Good understanding of agile methodologies.
- Experience with cloud technologies and modern human-computer interfaces.
- Comfortable as a coach and mentor for engineers.
Typical Education and Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor and/or Master) and typically 10 or more years' related work experience.
