Software Development Engineer II (AWS Forecasting Platform), AWS Forecasting Platform

The AWS Forecasting Platform (AFP) team is looking for a Software Development Engineer to join us.
Our team owns a platform that facilitates the capacity forecasting and planning for the Cloud where each 1% of AWS utilization improvements means millions of additional free cash flow. It is designed as a multi-tenant, distributed execution environment with a rich set of tools and models for accessing, preparing or processing data, and producing forecasts. Our team, being central to capacity forecasting, gets the opportunity to interact with teams across AWS and Amazon in general. Our engineers get to work on a variety of tasks - from forecast scheduling optimization, Console UI features, data processing updates, to being embedded with the sister research team to define new machine learning and statistical models.

On-Call Responsibility
This position involves on-call responsibilities. We don’t like getting paged in the middle of the night or on the weekend, so we worked hard to ensure that our systems are fault-tolerant. When we do get paged, we work together to resolve the root cause so that we don’t get paged for the same issue twice.

Minimum Qualifications
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
