Position Summary:
The role will support New Product Introduction and Sustaining engineering activities for aircraft components and platform controls. Coordinates, and exercises engineering authority for planning, organization, and completion of engineering projects in an aerospace manufacturing.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Knowledge equivalent to Bachelor's degree in engineering related field and 7+ years of equivalent engineering experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Position Summary:
The role will support New Product Introduction and Sustaining engineering activities for aircraft components and platform controls. Coordinates, and exercises engineering authority for planning, organization, and completion of engineering projects in an aerospace manufacturing.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- May lead activities encompassing new products, new design, sustaining engineer or manufacturing engineering projects.
- Multi-skilled engineering background responsible in supporting platform controls and aircraft components product in the aerospace & defense application.
- Leads multiple engineering programs, including defining the project scope of works, product development records, milestones, and staff requirements, and customer requirements.
- Makes improvement suggestions for department processes and procedures.
- Works closely with suppliers, purchasing, materials management, and manufacturing engineers.
- Develops and maintains a schedule and budget for the assigned engineering projects.
- Provides reports on the status of project milestones and adjusts schedules accordingly.
- Controls expenditures within limitations of project budget.
- Identifies project staffing requirements and coordinates staffing with supporting organization managers.
- Coordinates preparation and delivery of project deliverables, design documents, and bid packages.
- Assigns and oversees project personnel to specific phases or aspects of project such as technical studies, product design, preparation of specifications and technical plans, and product testing.
- Reviews product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications.
- Coordinates activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test problems.
- Evaluates and approves design changes, specifications, and drawing releases.
- Prepares interim and completion detailed project reports.
- Interfaces with customers and program management to provide project status reports and ensure customer needs are met.
- Provides status and progress reports to customer, project team, and management.
- Skilled in computer assisted engineering and design software.
- Prepare, review, and approve technical drawings and documents.
- Knowledge and application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
Knowledge equivalent to Bachelor's degree in engineering related field and 7+ years of equivalent engineering experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Skills:
- Language Ability: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, specifications, or other technical documentation. Ability to write business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, employees, and customers.
- Math Ability: Engineering math skills should include the ability to perform engineering analysis for product durability, fit, and performance.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written or oral form. Ability to read and interperet blueprints.
- Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have working knowledge of ERP software; Word Processing software; Spreadsheet software; SolidWorks and/or equivalent CAD software. Aptitude for learning new technology or techniques is a must.
- Work Environment: Normal office environment with access to manufacturing environment including a machine shop, assembly, and test area.
- Physical Demands: Needs to be able to work in office environment and laboratory environment: sit, operate computer terminal, answer phone, physical labor necessary for laboratory activities.
