Job Description:
NAOVI is seeking a Software Engineer with Java development experience to support the design, development, and deployment of advanced cybersecurity capabilities, including Jira, Jira Align, and Confluence. This role supports the U.S. Government customer on a large mission-critical development and sustainment program to design, build, deliver, and operate a network operations environment, introducing new cyber capabilities to address emerging threats.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Act as the SME for Atlassian tools (Jira, Jira Align, Confluence, etc.).
- Provide recommendations and deploy sustainable architecture throughout multiple environments.
- Provide day-to-day operational support activities as well as strategic planning initiatives with Atlassian tools.
- Collaborate within an Agile Scrum team as a key contributor responsible for converting proprietary vendor code for integration with multiple advanced cybersecurity-oriented capabilities.
- Create interfaces and interaction layers using industry best practices, latest web trends/technologies, and associated tools.
- Work with customers, testers, and administrators to develop, test, and deploy software builds.
- Develop high-quality technical documentation, as needed, including user guides, test plans, and contract deliverable items.
Required Skills:
- U.S. Citizenship.
- Active DoD Secret clearance. Must be able to obtain a TS/SCI clearance.
- Must be able to obtain DHS Suitability.
- 6+ years of software development experience required.
- 4+ years of hands-on experience with Java development and related technologies.
- 2+ years of experience with Agile software development.
- Experience in the development lifecycle of supporting and customizing Atlassian tools (Jira, Jira Align, Confluence) to meet the needs of enterprise stakeholders.
- Solid understanding and hands-on experience with Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Solid understanding and working experience with cloud technologies, i.e., AWS, Azure.
- Possesses or quickly develops a comprehensive understanding of Government Information Security policies, regulations, and guidelines.
- Must be able to work collaboratively across agencies and physical locations.
Desired Skills:
- Technical understanding of account management and user authentication solutions.
- Experience with JavaScript, XML, and SQL.
- Experience and/or familiarity with Continuous Development / Continuous Integration concepts and tools.
- Experience with integrations utilizing cutting-edge and cloud technologies.
- Experience working with HSPD-12.
- DHS experience.
Required Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, or Computer Systems Engineering. Eight (8) years of experience may be substituted for a degree. A master’s degree in a related discipline may substitute for two (2) years of experience. A PhD may substitute for four (4) years of experience. Professional experience may be substituted for a degree. Two years of related work experience may be substituted for each year of degree level education.
Desired Certifications:
- DoD 8570.1 IAT Level II.
- Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), Windows/Linux Admin, Cloud SIEM, CISSP, Security+, Network+, Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Cisco Certified Security Professional (CCSP).
- Certifications related to Agile development and Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) such as Scrum Master, Product Owner, SAFe Agilist (SA), SAFe Practitioner (SP) or SAFe Program Consultant (SPC).
