The Manufacturing Operations team is responsible for providing the manufacturing capability to deliver this state-of-the-art physical infrastructure. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you evaluate the product designs and create the processes, tools and procedures behind Google’s powerful search technology. When vendors build parts for our infrastructure, you’re right there alongside ensuring manufacturing processes are repeatable and controlled. You collaborate with Commodity Managers and Design Engineers to determine Google’s infrastructure needs and product specifications. Your work ensures the various pieces of Google’s infrastructure fit together perfectly and keep our systems humming along smoothly for a seamless user experience.
This role is responsible for leading the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) Configuration team and driving operational excellence within the organization. As the PLM Configuration Engineer Lead, you will ensure data integrity within the PLM system, manage change processes, support product development, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize efficiency and effectiveness. You will play a key role in fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation, mentoring team members, and driving operational excellence across the organization.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $134,000-$198,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience in manufacturing or data center.
- 6 years of experience with data management tools like Agile.
- Experience with LEAN Manufacturing/5S/8D practices.
- Demonstrated ability to proactively influence the product design process by proposing improvements with associated data.
- Ability and commitment to produce a timely and highly accurate work product.
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills, coupled with a well-focused attention to details.
- Demonstrated record of overseeing yield improvements and cycle time reductions for high volume and high complexity parts.

Responsibilities
- Lead the PLM team to maintain the accuracy and consistency of product configuration data within the PLM system.
- Streamline PLM data updates to align with product development processes.
- Design and implement robust configuration management processes within the data center domain.
- Oversee the implementation of Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and other modifications to product configurations.
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes, reduce waste, and improve efficiency.
