The opportunity
You will help our clients navigate the complex world of Information Data Governance and Data Quality. The Data Governance and Data Quality Analyst will specialize in serving EY clients in the areas of Data Strategy, Data Governance, Data Quality, Data Definition and Usage, and Data Management.
We’ll look to you to provide our clients with a unique business perspective on how Data Strategy, Data Governance, Data Quality, Data Definition and Usage, and Data Management can transform and improve their entire organization – starting with key business issues they face. Your key responsibilities
- Oversee the design, implementation, and optimization of data strategies and solutions for our oil and gas clients.
- Develop service offerings that provide quality, accuracy, and availability of data across various platforms and systems for our clients.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to deliver data-driven insights and solutions that support our clients’ goals and objectives.
As a data management leader, you will:
- Define and execute data management strategies and roadmaps for our oil and gas clients, aligning with their business needs and industry standards.
- Align with industry standards bodies to stay aligned with client needs.
- Optimize the data lifecycle, from data acquisition, integration, transformation, storage, to dissemination, ensuring data quality, security, and compliance.
- Lead and mentor a team of data engineers and analysts, providing guidance, feedback, and support on data management best practices and tools.
- Provide offerings that establish and maintain data governance policies and procedures, ensuring data consistency, integrity, and accessibility across the organization.
- Articulate and implement processes to measure enterprise value from data.
- Work with delivery teams to identify and resolve data issues, risks, and challenges, proactively communicating with stakeholders and escalating when necessary.
- Evaluate and recommend new techniques, technologies and solutions, staying abreast of the latest trends and innovations in the data management domain.

To qualify for the role you must have
- A bachelor's degree and approximately eight years of related work experience; or a graduate degree and approximately five years of related work experience.
- A minimum of eight years’ experience in providing complex consultative services in the following focus areas: information strategy, data architecture, information/data governance, master data management, data quality, data integration.
- Expertise creating data management strategies, preferably in the oil and gas industry or a similar industrial sector.
- Proficiency in data modeling, data warehousing, data integration, and data quality tools and techniques.
- Experience in working with various data sources, formats, and platforms, such as relational databases, NoSQL databases, Knowledge Graphs, cloud services, APIs, OSI PI, SCADA, or others.
- Experience in leading and managing data projects and teams, using agile methodologies and frameworks.
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex data concepts and solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Preferred involvement in industry data consortiums such as DAMA, OSDU, CFIHOS, PPDM, Open Footprint, or others.
- Working knowledge of the modernized information management tool landscape (e.g., Talend, Collibra, Oracle DRM, SAP MDM, Informatica, Hyperion, Essbase, SQL).
- A strong working knowledge and point of view on the evolving concepts and practices for modernizing information management.
- Proficiency with advising clients on the full data supply chain from data wrangling to data consumption via analytics.
- Proven track record of understanding business challenges and translating them into value-add solutions.
- Engagement leadership experience including managing junior level consulting staff, providing regular status updates, monitoring project economics, as well as managing client relationships.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills as well as excellent oral and written communication skills.
- A willingness to travel to meet client needs; travel is estimated at 80%. A valid driver’s license in the US and a valid passport required; willingness and ability to travel internationally.
Ideally, you’ll also have
- Degree emphasis in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Computer Science, IT or Engineering preferred.

What we offer
We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $142,600 to $325,800. The salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $171,100 to $370,300.
Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options. Join us in our team-led and leader-enabled hybrid model. Our expectation is for most people in external, client-serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year. Under our flexible vacation policy, you’ll decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances.
