Job Title: Java FSE DB Developer

Client: Anthem - Carelon

Job Summary

This role is all about working smarter rather than harder. You will be expected to find the most rapid and appropriate way to build complex features and then deliver high-quality, defect-free code. The expectations are to own end-to-end features development to post-production support.

As part of our delivery team, you will be responsible for implementing features for new and existing projects. This will include greenfield projects and updates to existing ones in various languages and frameworks.

Developer and QA roles combined.

Experience

1. 8+ years of professional software development experience
2. Requires BA/BS in information systems or related field; 10 or more years related experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
3. Certifications preferred.

Top 3 Must Haves

1. Hands-on experience in Java, database development, including SQL and Non-SQL (Mongo preferred)
2. Testing with test case creation and execution as QA
3. Minimum 2 years’ experience automation of test cases in Selenium

Required Skills

1. Primarily Full Stack Java development experience
2. Database design and SQL development
3. Hands-on experience in Java, database development, including SQL and Non-SQL (Mongo preferred), testing with test case creation and execution (automation and Manual: Selenium Java)
4. Collaborating with a team of developers and product managers
5. The ability to self-manage and organize; should be able to find answers considering zero help.
6. Proactive communication is a must for this position; we can't have someone sitting down and waiting for someone to help.
7. Strong written and verbal communication

Roles & Responsibilities

1. Completing work assigned to you on time, on-spec, and free from defects
2. Core understanding of SOLID principles.
3. Previous experience with supporting user authentication solutions.
4. Understanding of application SSO.
5. Some exposure to encryption and encoding technologies.
6. Excellent communication skills.
7. Experience and knowledge of health care industry desired.
8. Creating and executing unit test cases according to MBM guideline
9. Creating and executing QA Test cases according to MBM guideline (Manual and Automation: Selenium Java)
10. Working on Database changes as required
11. Security scan of the code and fixing any defect introduced by your code
12. Writing clean, testable, and well-documented back- and front-end code
13. Performing performance testing according to MBM guideline
14. Deployment, release support, post-production support according to MBM guideline
15. Actively participating in sprint ceremonies, including daily stand-ups and fortnightly retrospectives
