Tens of millions of Americans engage with TEGNA’s digital products every month and the Development and Design group is responsible for all of it. Our team builds user-facing websites, mobile apps, OTT apps, and custom editorial tools. And while TEGNA is a large, publicly traded company, our development team runs nimble and lean – more like a startup. We are looking for a .Net Developer to join our backend development team. This developer will be responsible for supporting existing applications and infrastructure as well as developing new technologies. A successful candidate will like learning new technologies/tools and working in a team environment.
This is a full-time, remote position .
Responsibilities
- Work with other developers, designers and product/business managers to develop new features consistent with product roadmap while following all coding standards.
- Review development work of other developers or be called on as a resource to investigate and resolve product issues.
- Build, deploy and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code.
- Attention to detail.
- Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to these problems.
- Help maintain code quality, organization, and automatization.
- Learn and absorb new technologies quickly.
- Be a strong team player and rapidly adapt to changing business and customer demands.
Requirements
- Proficient with .NET Core, C#, MVC, JSON.
- Experience building and/or interfacing with RESTful APIs.
- Experience with programming and troubleshooting.
- Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as Git.
- Willingness to learn new technologies and frameworks as needed.
- Understanding fundamental design principles behind a scalable application.
- Teamwork skills with a problem-solving attitude.
- Experience working with SQL and/or NoSQL databases considered a plus.
- Experience developing for and on cloud-based systems a plus, but not required.
