Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Principal Subsystems Mechanical Engineer/Sr. Principal Subsystems Mechanical Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Palmdale, CA and is assigned to the 4/10-1st Shift (Mon-Thu) - 10 hours/day schedule.

Essential Functions:

• Develop solutions to difficult problems that are thorough, imaginative, practical, and consistent with program objectives.

• Coordination and clear communication with other disciplines, customer, and suppliers during the development of design solutions.

• Concise presentation and explanation of system design issues/solutions to internal management and customer representatives.

• Development and review of completed models, drawings, and repairs for accuracy, clarity, and completeness.

• Evaluation of engineering products for conformity to standards, procedures, and specifications.

Basic Qualifications:

Principal Subsystems Mechanical Engineer (T03):

• Bachelor of Science Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) related field with 5 or more years of engineering experience or MS in STEM with 3 years of engineering experience or PhD in STEM.

• Active in-scope DOD Secret clearance.

• Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (SAP/PAR) (Not needed to start).

• Experience in a combination of ECS, Fuel, Powerplant, Landing Gear, and Hydraulic installations.

• High level of proficiency using CATIA V5 in the development of aircraft Subsystem Installations.

Basic Qualifications:

Sr. Principal Subsystems Mechanical Engineer (T04):

• Bachelor of Science Degree in a STEM related field with 9 or more years of engineering experience or MS in STEM with 7 years of engineering experience or PhD in STEM with 4 years of experience.

• Active in-scope DOD Secret clearance.

• Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (SAP/PAR) (Not needed to start).

• Experience in a combination of ECS, Fuel, Powerplant, Landing Gear, and Hydraulic installations.

• High level of proficiency using CATIA V5 in the development of aircraft Subsystem Installations.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Secret or Top Secret clearance preferred.

• 5 years or more Aerospace Subsystems design experience using CATIA V5.

• Experience working on military aircraft.

Salary Range: $97,500 - $146,300
