Data Scientist (Software Engineer)

JOB TITLE: Software Engineer

Location: New Brunswick, NJ (50% onsite)

Duration: 4 months (This is to cover a Maternity Leave)

Must Have List:

1. 6+ years of experience with Database tools such as SQL
2. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python for data analysis and modeling
3. Proven experience in a data science role, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry
4. Agile software development methodologies
5. Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure); professional certification preferred
6. Linux administration
7. R programming language
8. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field or equivalent professional experience

Job Description: Key Responsibilities

1. Work closely with application developers to ensure the database design aligns with the application’s data access and usage patterns
2. Work with a team of Service Provider’s resources to deliver integration solutions
3. Collaborate with other technical groups on technology issues and solutions
4. Create and maintain documentation of solutions built
5. Collaborate with infrastructure teams
6. Participate in recurring and ad-hoc meetings related to Build activities
7. Linux (Unix) server admin experience

Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field or equivalent professional experience
2. Familiarity with database tools
3. Proven experience in a data science role, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry
4. Familiarity with agile software development methodologies
5. Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a team player mentality
6. Exhibit a positive work approach
7. Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure); professional certification preferred
8. Excellent communication and presentation skills
9. Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
10. Experience in handling and analyzing large-scale structured and unstructured data sets
11. R programming language
