About the Role:
We are looking for a Sr. Hardware/Quality Assurance Sustaining Engineer to support the qualification and quality efforts for custom and commodity servers. You'll collaborate closely with engineers, production teams, and suppliers to address design, quality, and product lifecycle management issues.
This role requires hands-on experience with Linux, PCB design, and real-time operating systems . Knowledge of thermal dynamics or water cooling is a big plus!
Key Responsibilities:
- Test and validate server electronics, mechanicals, and user documentation.
- Develop and execute test strategies for server components (disk drives, processors, memory, etc.).
- Manage product lifecycle using PLM tools (e.g., Engineering Change Orders, Product Change Notifications).
- Conduct level 3 failure analysis and collaborate with suppliers on design and quality issues.
- Provide support for new product introductions and maintain existing products.
- Coordinate with quality, manufacturing, and production engineers to resolve product issues.
Must-Have Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering with 3+ years of industry experience OR Associate’s degree with relevant experience.
- Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux OS in server environments.
- Proficiency with ECOs, PNRs, PCNs , and PLM tools.
- Hands-on experience with debugging high-speed digital/analog systems and network protocols (Ethernet, SATA, iSCSI).
- Ability to create and manage hardware compatibility lists (HWCL) .
- Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Visio, Project).
